Overcharged!

January 21st, 2008 at 05:59 am

Yesterday my oldest son had two out-of-town basketball games scheduled six hours apart. Between the games we decided to get a bite to eat. When the ck. came it only had the total and was very high. We inquired about it and they looked shocked that we would even ask. Nothing was said, but the bill total was changed. I thought it was out of the ordinary that the bill wasn't itemized, so i had questions. Smile Anyone else have a similar experience?

saved $40.00 with coupons today bringing my challenge to $207.00.

Never. I find that strange too and i would not have paid it til it was itemized.

Yes - I've sent Hubster back to get a refund too! He hates it, but not as much as me razzlefratzing about it during the entire meal (yeah, he's one of those macho guys who WANTS to do this kinda thing, but yet he hates doing it, and doesn't want me to have to do it, so...there ya go!! Big Grin

Check those receipts people. There are often mistakes on them.

Recently we went out to eat w/parental units and the dingy wait staff kept telling us what we wanted to eat wasn't the RIGHT thing? Do what??? Do you not have any of it? Yes. Is it rancid or something? No. Are you saving the last of it for your boyfriend??? No. Okiedokie, then don't tell me what to eat!! Geee!!

I find eating out to be a comedy of errors sometimes and I'm not one to be shy about it if they get it wrong. Hubster hates it when I send something back or question things like pricing, but the man works hard for his money, I want us to get a fair deal.

Good for you for sticking to your guns!

My experience with a non-itemized bill was the result of a dishonest employee who was not actually ringing up a legitimate total..but rather creating a phoney "bill" and pocketing the payment. Good to ask...if you are expected to pay, you should know what youre paying for.
