Creeped out!

March 9th, 2007 at 12:24 am

Just had 2 guys stop by my house selling steaks out of a cooler. I told them I wasn't interested. One asked me if we eat meat. I just said "no". Then he said he would just take our grill (since we don't eat meat.) I said "yea" and then went in the house. They then drove away. About 1/2 hr. later they pulled back into my drive. I went to get my gun, and they had backed out and took off. I got kind of scared because I have kids here. I'm feling uneasy about all this. Scared they will come back. I couldn't get the licence plate no. to call the law either.
Adding $2.00 to the challenge for not turning on heat/AC. Also adding $1.00 for a no spend day. Total challenge money...$776.00.

Be careful, I can't believe someone with the title little mama has a gun

LOL!!! That's hiliarious! Actually it's my sons. It's a shotgun that his grandfather gave him. Really tho, I don't play when it comes to the safety of my kids.

How weird! Do you think they thought you were giving permission to take your grill when you said, "yea"? Were they just using your driveway to turn around and leave the neighborhood?

No, they knew That I wasn't giving them permission. And I live out in the country and have a rather long drive. They drove up to my house where they pulled up previously. The kids were outside playing in the back and all I could think of was their safety!

You might want to call the police anyways. If they were like this with you maybe they did similar things to other people. Not suggesting a call to 9-1-1 as it isn't an emergency but I think a heads up to the cops would not be amiss.

Thanks Yummy, I didn't think of that. Not a bad idea at all. Can't be too safe these days.

Hmm. I have a buddy who once tried to sell meat. As far as I know, it's fairly legit.

Of course, that doesn't stop crooks from using the pretense of selling meat to get their feet through the door.

I agree that I don't play around either. Regardless of who it is, I don't typically answer doors unless I am expecting someone in advance.

I was outside doing yard work when they spotted me and decided to pull in. I know some people do this sort of thing for a living. We have had several different people stop by over the years that we have lived here. These guys were just unusual. I didn't get a good vibe about them.

That would make me uneasy too. Definitely call the cops just to let them know, esp. if you can tell them what kind of car.

So what did they do when they pulled in the driveway the 2nd time? Just pull right back out again? Seems wierd.

Yea, I thought it was weird too! They did just pull out. I've kept a look out for them since. I'm still uneasy.

I agree call the cops, it sounds creepy to me. Once when I was a teenager a guy wearing a brown outift (like UPS) with a package knocked on the door ( I was the only one home). I noticed he titled his head away from the door funny and his suit didn't look quite like UPS, I refused to open the door and called the police. I found out a few days later he had attacked two people in that neighborhood over the last 3 months or so. You can never be too careful!

That's really scary. Thank God you were smart enough not to open the door. I tell my kids to always keep the door locked, and to open it for no one! You just never know.
