How high will you go?

April 21st, 2008 at 09:05 pm

It is 81 degrees in my house right now. I am okay with it, though I'm almost at my breaking point. How hot will you let it get inside before you crank on the air? And what do you set it at? I personally like it around 79 degrees Smile, but the other members would like it lower.

We've always set it to 80, having infants/small kids. I don't remember what we did before.

It was 81 or 82 the other night and I didn't turn on the air, but was tempted. Was just a freak thing. IT was getting hot though. But then again, sometimes the fan is fine at 82. So just depends.

We usually end up with it at about 78 to 80. It is the humidity as much as the heat that causes us to turn it on. It can get sticky in the house!

I can live with 81, but hubby keeps it at 78 (DS has asthma and we hesitate getting him too hot or too cold--he has the sniffles so the house is at 78 right now)

    I can't stand heat! I keep mine around 72-73!

I keep it about 75. I used to do 80 with lots of fans, but I find it almost better to just open the windows and deal with the heat if I am going to let it get that hot.

Generally when it gets to 80 I have to turn the air on. We leave it at 78 or so all summer.

I let it get to 82, but then we live in an extremely dry climate which changes the feel of the heat alot. We usually can just open the windows at night and close them in the morning to control the indoor temperature.

Okay, I'm keeping it at 80 for now. I didn't get any complaints yesterday. Smile When that Texas heat and humidity kicks in I will (more than likely) have to take it down a notch or two. We'll see...
